Detroit Kite Festival took place this year on Sunday, July 10, 2022 on Belle Isle at the Cricket Field.

The first Detroit Kite Festival happened in 2017 as a way to “uplift kite flying and creation as a platform for radical inclusion, communal play, shared healing, and the celebration of culture and history.”

In order to keep the festival inclusive and accessible, they include many resources and references on their website to help people prepare to participate in the event.
