Emily Jones (she/her) is a community organizer and movement trainer born and raised in the suburbs of Flint, Michigan. Emily is a queer woman from a low-income, single-parent household that relied on social safety net programs and faced housing and food insecurity. These experiences radicalized her as she began organizing as a Freshman at Central Michigan University during the 2016 election. As a student organizer, Emily served as the President of the Organization of Women Leaders, an intersectional gender and reproductive justice organization, as well as the Founder and President of New America Project, a leftist collective raising awareness about socialism and taking action to improve student life on campus. Additionally, she has worked with community organizations and political campaigns across the state and nationally. Emily's frontlines are healthcare justice, fighting for national single-payer healthcare, housing, and economic justice. Emily is a former Fellow and Summer Training of Michigan Student Power Alliance and has been working full-time with the organization as Organizing Director and Executive Director since 2022 where she works directly with students, community members, and organizers to build a more just future in Michigan. As well as designing content for and facilitating relational organizing skills and strategizing in the Accomplice Caucus.
