gin ebony (she/they) is a Canadian dancer, broadcaster, astrologer, musician and dj known for their monthly radio show- case, STEP 01, airing on n10.as radio (MTL). gin’s collection and presentation of sound are respectively vast and versatile; radio is a place of experimentation with sonic storytelling via the juxtaposition of musical genres.
gin’s heart resides in Detroit, Michigan where their community provides an endless source of creative validation, support, and inspiration; a city of which every square inch, to her, is a dance floor. gin traditionally celebrates Detroit’s Underground on Memorial Day Wknd (DEMF) by preparing a mix of sound produced by some of its scheduled performers. They mass copy the annual DEMF mix to compact discs, listen to it on repeat while rolling through this long-wknd, gifting cds to djs they come across along the way.
